Neupos: Date with Jasmine
At the start of this memory, Iris is both very happy, and incredibly nervous. She’s dressed up in her best casual clothes, and is waiting downtown at midday, checking her watch every so often- She’s sort of berating herself inside her head as she waits. The amazing phantom thief --- barely feels any nerves before waltzing into a building full of people who want to shoot her to take treasures from them, but waiting for a date has her so anxious she showed up at the meeting point half an hour early?
Still, once Jasmine shows up (dressed exactly like normal, Iris notices with a pout), her worries evaporate, and she grabs hold of her arm to start pulling her along. The date itself is nothing special, really. They spend a while windowshopping at cute clothes (Iris tries to get Jasmine to try on a ruffly skirt, and gets an annoyed shove for her trouble), then end up at the park where they are accosted by a group of puppies who want to crawl all over them. Iris expects Jasmine to act all stoic and grumpy at the dogs, but Jasmine actually turns out to be as excited as she is for them- the two spend a while buried in puppies. It’s a pretty excellent date on that alone.
It takes them a while to be able to bear to leave the fluffballs behind, but eventually Iris drags Jasmine out to dinner- A fairly nice restaurant near Iris’s apartment. It’s not a fancy place, but it’s a fairly nice family restaurant, and they have a good time- though a small jump scare when the TVs playing in the place started reporting on Iris’s thefts. Iris can only give a sheepish grin, and Jasmine just rolls her eyes.
By the time they’re done eating, the sun has already set, but Iris drags Jasmine along the pier to the beach instead, to have a romantic view of the night sky. Still, even though Iris really doesn’t want it to end, it’s soon enough time for both of them to go home. But first, Iris says to Jasmine, she has to thank her for coming along with her like that, and kisses her. (Physical things like that, she is already way more used to with Jasmine than romantic things like dates- it helps calm her nerves about it.) With that, they go their separate ways to get home.
Once at home, Iris can’t get to sleep that night, still too excited about how that date went to be tired at all.
