Neupos: Haggling for an orphanage
The night after her first theft, Iris slips the sapphire necklace she stole into her pocket, searching for the point she had discovered a few days prior. A man loiters there, who could be a contact for her to sell the items she had stolen... She approaches him swiftly, confident in her inconspicuous disguise.
She flashes the necklace, and the two begin to talk in low, but normal tones. She looked up the value of the necklace beforehand, so tells him that was her price. He laughs, telling her there was no way anyone would take that at that price- Such a high profile item from a high profile theft, with how much danger there was in just holding it, she'd be lucky to get half the price. She made a face, and the two haggled for a bit.
By the end of it, Iris leaves with the money- maybe a quarter of the necklace's actual value. Still an incredible amount of money, but not nearly enough... She got ripped off hard. Still, some is better than none, and she pushes that frustration aside as she scaled the walls to get back home...
Slipping inside the orphanage, she placed the money inside on the matron's desk, in a completely unmarked envelope she had stolen from the public library, then slipped back into her room to sleep. She drifted off quickly enough, happy that she could help her home.
